Course Balloting in the 2016/2017 Academic Year

Background
To respond to a capacity bottleneck in CSC207H1 (Software Design), CSC236H1 (Introduction to the Theory of Computation), and CSC263H1 (Data Structures and Analysis), in the 2016/2017 academic year, we have installed a limited, separate section for BCB students in these courses. These sections are under "E" enrolment control: enrolment is through the Department of Computer Science, you can not enrol via ACORN/ROSI/SWS. We will be balloting these sections.
How will this work?
To ballot for a a spot in one of the reserved sections of CSC207H1, CSC236H1, and/or CSC263H1, you need to contact the BCB Program Director, Prof. Boris Steipe by e-mail and indicate your intent. Prof. Steipe will send you an e-mail with detailed instructions. In general we wish to determine your academic aptitude for the challenging Specialist Program in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, and prioritize course enrolment for those students most likely to succeed in the field.

We will consider students who have applied to enrol by Friday, July 29 2016. Decisions will be announced by Thursday, August 4 2016 so that students who may have been rejected from priority enrolment can enrol into remaining spaces once priority has been lifted on August 5 at 6:00 a.m.

For further information
Feel free to contact Prof. Steipe with any questions on the BCB Program; questions specific to the Computer Science Programs should be addressed to the Department of Computer Science.
